IAWP EARLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE

In late February the IAWP Board of Directors held their Early Board Meeting at the University of the Rockies in Denver, CO.  First Vice President/President Elect Margaret Shorter also led two days of Strategic Planning prior to the start of the board meeting.

Mylan Masson, Region 7 member and Awards Committee Chair, attended both days of Strategic Planning, and reported that it was a very productive session with a large number of the Board of Directors in attendance.  She stated that much was accomplished for moving the IAWP forward in the coming years.

University of the Rockies President, Dr Charlita Shelton and IAWP President, Jane Townsley welcomed the IAWP Board of Directors to Denver, CO for the 2015 Early Board Meeting.  Region 7 was well represented at the meeting.  Region 7 Coordinator Joann Springer, Awards Committee Chair Mylan Masson, and Board of Trustees members Juliann Brunzell, and Laura Goodman were all in attendance for the board meeting.  Joann Springer also acted as Sergeant at Arms during the proceedings due to the absence of Linda Cunningham.

Several new Regional Coordinators from across the globe were sworn in during the board meeting.  The new coordinators have increased the diversity of the board of directors, and will be a valuable resource for further globalization of the IAWP membership.

Many members of the Board of Directors enjoyed an evening of camaraderie at the Colorado Avalanche vs Minnesota Wild Hockey game.  I am pleased to report that of course the MN Wild won 3 to 1!

Joann reported that the Board of Directors had a lengthy agenda, and accomplished much during the two day meeting.  Several items that were discussed have been added to the agenda for the General Membership Meeting to be held in Cardiff, Wales during the 2015 conference.  The entirety of the minutes can be viewed in the "Members Only" section of the IAWP website.  If you have any issues logging in contact Webmaster, Carol Paterick at:  carolpaterick@gmail.com.  You can also contact Joann if you have any questions as you review the minutes.
